The Ross Cup, 2005
Not a successful venture for the club - after a year or more of climbing the tables in major competitions, we slumped to third from last in the Ross Cup, although it should be pointed out that the lower of the marks awarded indicated that the image was up to the standard expected in such a contest.

The Handley Shield

The club once again did well in this county wide competition coming joint fifth {with Invicta Photographic Club},with three clubs coming joint second. The winning club, Ashford Quest won with 144 points and Reflex scored 128, so we're up there again this year in the reckoning. We did however, bag a trophy with Ruth Brown being awarded the Imagination Trophy, a handsome glass vase set in a wooden base along with a very nice framed certificate.

Sunday, 21st August saw us in Rochester to meet all the new members and a good morning was had by all, although it seemed there was more talking going on than imaging! Here's a few photos snapped as we walked around Rochester and drank tea in a very nice cafe.
Vic Cassar out and about after his illness, looks like he's heading for the cafe ...

Malcolm Dilloway, John Amey and new/old member returned, Steve {?} John Amey seems to get in most of the pics, maybe it's because he's Hon. Gen. Sec.!
Vic, Ruth, John and Barry putting the world right ... John, Mick Macey, Ron Packman, Malcolm and Ruth with Vic hidden, sampling the victuals of a High Street cafe. And very good they were!
Jean Perry and Alan, sorry about the picture folks, I'm blaming John. Apologies if I've got the names wrong, do let me know and I'll correct them!

Monday, August 29th saw us at Smarden Wildlife site where we had a terrific day capturing the big cats after being shown round and given a very informative talk by one of the 'keepers', two in attendance when we went to see two leopards who didn't see eye to eye with humankind! Photographically it was a challenging experience but eveybody enjoyed it and thanks go to Malcolm Dilloway who organised it all.

After a cup of tea members are ready for the big Smarden safari

Ron Packman and Terry Thorn linger over a cuppa
